Apple has developed the AirPlay protocol to enable streaming of music, videos or pictures via a range of media devices. The streaming can be done with the help of an iPod, iPad or an iPhone or simply by using iTunes from the computer connected to a set of speakers, the Apple TV or any receivers. The idea is totally based on the wireless speaker system.

An airplay speaker enables the user to have two sets of speakers at two corners of a huge area and have them playing through the same connection leading to a stereo effect.
